Machine Operator

Position Brief:

Efficiently and safely operate our slitters, winders, printer, and coating machinery to produce
high-quality products that meet Pilcher Hamilton Corporation specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, adjust, and operate machines according to specified instructions and tolerances.
• Verify production details to ensure equipment is set up correctly and products meet customer requirements.
• Handle and replace rolls of materials as needed.
• Calculate production rates, yields, and quantities.
• Maintain product quality by following job travelers and quality plans, using appropriate measurement devices and test methods.
• Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity and quality while reducing waste.
• Scan work orders and manage materials in our ERP system.
• Package and label products according to packaging and job traveler requirements.
• Follow all safety and quality procedures.
• Monitor equipment for safety issues and report problems to management.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Maintain a positive and respectful attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.), or equivalent experience.
• Thorough understanding of the coating process, tools, equipment, and machinery used.
• Comprehensive knowledge of materials, their characteristics, and their application in the coating process.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply all related SOPs.
• Physically capable of handling heavier materials with proper lifting devices.
• Basic arithmetic skills and proficiency with calculators.
• Proficiency with rulers and other measuring devices.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions in English.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.
• Lift up to 75 lbs.
• Stand for long periods.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with close interaction with teammates.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
